John H Morris

Bio

John Morris is the head of Osprey Capital Group’s Business Operations. He was most recently involved in the workout and loan sales advisory services of Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, a boutique real estate capital advisory firm specializing in debt financing, mezzanine financing, preferred equity, joint venture equity and sponsor equity. Prior to joining Ackman-Ziff, he held a senior associate position at a commercial real estate valuation division in an accounting firm, WeiserMazars LLP (formerly Weiser LLP). As a commercial appraiser, he provided valuation and consulting services to owners, investors, lenders and developers of real estate by analyzing large property portfolios and conducting due diligence reviews for all types of commercial assets located throughout the country. At WeiserMazars LLP, he was responsible for the internal valuations of large national commercial real estate portfolios for major pension funds and investment management firms. He worked on the internal valuations of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) core and specialized real estate portfolio, with a value of $21.9 billion as of October 31, 2007 as well as contributed to the value review of Westfield America’s portfolio of super regional malls. He prepared appraisals of individual assets and portfolios throughout the U.S., with emphasis on regional shopping centers, multi-family, and industrial properties for clients such as CalPERS, Westfield, DRA Advisors, Fosterlane Management Corporation, IXIS Real Estate Capital and Morgan Stanley. John is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (“ICSC”), the Urban Land Institute (“ULI”), and several other real estate organizations. John received his BS in General Management and Chemistry from Boston College. He is presently completing his master degree in real estate from New York University Shack Institute of Real Estate.
