Matt Engel

Bio

Matt Engel is a member of Prism’s technology investment team where he focuses on both software and digital media opportunities. Matt is a director for Sonian and Six Degrees Games. Formerly, he was on the board of SiGe Semiconductor acquired by Skyworks (NASDAQ: SWKS). Matt also supports board-related activities for RatePoint, The Receivables Exchange, and White Sky. Originally an Analyst for Prism, Matt joined portfolio company GeoTrust in July 2004, serving in various roles including finance, business development and strategic development. There, he focused on all aspects of the security company’s business including, lead development, distribution and technology partner cultivation. Matt was a core member of the team that negotiated GeoTrust’s $125 million sale to VeriSign in September 2006. Following the acquisition, Matt was responsible for all aspects of GeoTrust’s integration into VeriSign. Prior to originally joining Prism, Matt served as a Senior Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he analyzed equity, debt and hybrid transactions for various private equity partnerships with over $10 billion in committed capital. Matt received his B.A. in Accountancy from Villanova University in 1999, where he earned an athletic scholarship. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
