Bio

Alain joined Compass in 1998 and his wide-ranging technology career includes academic and industrial research as well as emerging high technology and senior corporate management. Alain began his career in 1985 with AT&T Bell Laboratories in the Advanced Materials Development group for semiconductor manufacturing where he was responsible for the development of new materials and processes to be integrated in CMOS technology with an emphasis on manufacturability. In 1989 he joined Novellus Systems, a manufacturer of capital equipment for the semiconductor industry. He spent 1993 at Lam Research. Alain rejoined Novellus in 1994 and became Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. Alain holds a BS in Mathematics (1977) and a MS in Physics (1979) from the University of Paris XI at Orsay, France. He received a Ph.D. in Experimental Solid State Physics in 1984 from Temple University in Philadelphia. Alain has authored and co-authored more than 30 technical papers, is a co-inventor on five patents and has presented more than 20 lectures at international conferences. Alain is now CEO of Kateeva.
