Bio
Axel Holtrup joined AEA in 2011 as a Partner in our London office. He is focused on value-added industrial, services and chemical opportunities throughout Europe. Prior to AEA, Mr. Holtrup was a Director at Silver Lake Partners for five years, where he played a central role in establishing the European office and co-led several transactions, including NXP and Intelsat, as well as a broad range of LBO debt investments. Mr. Holtrup started his private equity career with Investcorp in London, where he spent more than eight years sourcing and executing European buy-outs, including Stahl, Apcoa, Gerresheimer Glas, Avecia and Leica Geosystems. Throughout this time he was a director of a number of portfolio company supervisory boards. Before entering the private equity industry, Mr. Holtrup was a financial analyst in the M&A department of Morgan Stanley in London and Frankfurt. Mr. Holtrup received BA(Hons) European Business Administration and Diplom Betriebswirt degrees, both with honors, from the European Partnership of Business Schools in London and Reutlingen, Germany.
