Major General Tim Toyne Sewell

Bio

Spent 34 years in the Army, with a final appointment of Commandant of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Director of Goodenough College, London, and the Chairman of the International Board of United World Colleges upon retirement. Founding Chairman of London’s Benjamin Britten International Violin Competition and Chairman of the Kyiv Festival in Ukraine. From 1996-2006, served on the Council of Queen Mary, University of London. Additionally, has served as Chairman of the executive committee of Disability Sport England from 1999-2000. Was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London in 1999 and granted Freedom of City in 2006. Educated at Bedford School and Sandhurst.
