Has since 2005 been Managing Director of Sussex Place Ventures which manages two Venture Capital Funds associated with London Business School. Was an investment director at Top Technology Ltd from 1996 to 2004, providing early stage venture capital for British technology companies. Spent 10 years with the Financial Times, initially in Asia as a foreign correspondent, and then managed the paper's coverage of the venture capital and private equity markets in the UK and Europe before becoming a venture capital investor in 1996. Started his career at Citibank. For 12 years, served on the board of nCipher, which floated on the LSE in 2000 and was sold to Thales in 2008, and is on the Board of 365IT and an observer on the Boards of Phosphonics, My Goodness Ltd and Emdot. BSc in economics from Queen Mary College, London University.
